Free Quote & Site Survey

We offer a free site survey and no obligation quotation. We listen to your requirements and make suggestions to help you decide about the basic layout upon which we can base our quotation. Once agreed, we will measure the area taking all the factors into account including; groundworks, blocks and drainage etc. We will then supply a fully itemized, personalised quotation which we will thoroughly explain in order to answer any remaining questions you may have.

We never try and add pressure for a decision either way on the day of a quotation. it is a big decision when you are making a sizable investment into a new driveway and we always recommend that you get at least 3 quotes from reputable company’s before making an informed decision. We are positive that pound for pound we offer the best value and our methodical organised service puts us head and shoulders above our nearest competitors.

Create a Job Pack

If you accept our quotation we will visit you for a second time. We will discuss the layout and line mark the areas of work and photograph / document the works to be done, as well as gathering all the information from your chosen colours and types of edging through to risk assessments and access details. This allows us to produce a detailed “Job Pack”. This is produced in hard copy for the operatives on site to consult and is kept on our live system so it can be accessed at anytime from anywhere. This really helps communication on detailed aspects of the job and with the pre planning from our head office. The Job Pack contains all the information and checklists relevant to your specific job.

Most jobs are completed within 1 week. Due to our fast turnaround we require no deposits and no payments until complete. Our honest approach only inspires trust and confidence.

Power Clean & Preparation of Existing Surfaces

When laying resin over an existing surface, preparation is key to a permanent and quality finish. This is another key stage which many company’s take lightly and once again just shows how the service from Yorkshire Resin Company is in a league of its own. Here at Yorkshire Resin we have a dedicated powerclean division. Our dedicated powerclean vehicle is designed specifically for jet washing and features a duel operation high powered 250 bar pressure electric start diesel motor and pump which uses 29 ltr of water per minute.  The vehicle is also kitted out with a 1000 litre water tank and 2 x 50m high pressure hoses on dispensers for ease of use, along with turbo lances controllable fan lances and 24 inch flat surface cleaner it really is a smart setup. This given approach ensures that not only is the surface clean but the sheer power of the equipment used also identifies any weak or substandard areas to the existing surface which could be easily missed by a standard hand held jet wash . When overlaying resin bound on existing surfaces it of the highest importance
that that surface is prepared to a high standard.

Once the existing surfaces are cleaned and repaired (if necessary), they are primed with a resin primer.  This further protects the surface and ensures maximum adhesion to the existing surface (pitted tarmac or tarmac base coats do not require a primer coat).

Please note – if your project is part excavation and part overlay, the excavation and groundworks will usually be carried out first, unless the state of the existing surface dictates otherwise.

Excavation and Groundworks

A week before the job is due to start our office based planner will be in touch to
finalise exact start dates and discuss order of works. He will also supply you with his mobile number should you need to contact him out of office hours. The planner will stay in touch throughout the job so if there are any points you would like to raise you can do so without any confrontation with the operatives on site. Many people are happy to discuss on site with the team leader, others with our planner or sometimes both. We like to ensure the communication is good throughout the project and at every stage.

The agreed date has come and it’s time to begin the excavation and groundworks. Upon arriving the groundworks team leader will meet with you and discuss the job in hand and go through the “Job Pack” and advise you on the order of works and timescales. He will also listen to any concerns or plans you may have so he can run the job around any special requirements you may have. The team leader will work through the job pack methodically and tick the job off at every stage within the job pack. A usual excavation job will run as follows, it will be excavated to the required level and hardcore laid/compacted ready for the edges/manholes or drainage to be set in place in accordance with the job pack. Once all the preparation work is done the tarmac base coat binder sub base is laid in accordance with the specification and compacted to leave 15 – 20mm at the edges ready for resin bound overlay.

We ensure each surface we install is done to the correct specification for its intended use as to warrant the 10 year Yorkshire Resin Company guarantee.

Final Powerclean

You now have the perfect sub base ready for the resin it just needs a final powerclean so it’s ready to receive the resin. Even though it’s fresh tarmac and is clean we like to make sure that the entire area is clean and tidy before we set the date for resin.

On arrival our powerclean operative will greet you and run through how he will
commence with the clean. Every edging block or key kerb, every aspect of the job gets individual special attention with the jet wash.

Powerclean also pay attention to surrounding areas including any dust on the house and adjoining areas, also very importantly the street, which keeps the neighbours happy. Once finished, we will check you are more than happy before being on our way.

Laying the Resin

Once all remedial and groundworks/powerclean are complete you now have the perfect sub-base prepared in accordance with manufacturers specifications. It’s now time for our dedicated resin team to expertly finish your driveway.

On arrival, the resin team leader will check that all colours and amounts are correct and discuss the order of work and timescales with you. He will then double check preparation works and complete and sign a before resin check list in the “Job Pack”.

The resin and aggregates are then mixed together in the correct ratios using a
specialised action force mixer. They are then applied over the prepared surface the required depth continuously from start to finish to achieve a seamless finish. As the resin is laid it is finished with a dusting of fine glass particles which sets into the curing surface. This gives extra grip when the surface is wet.
Once the resin is laid the area is cordoned off and is left to set. After 4 – 6 hours you can walk on your beautiful new resin bound driveway. However, it will be 24 hours before it’s ready for vehicles.
